Day 4 of Radiation
Day 4 of radiation treatment done! Today mom and dad had a much easier time getting to Madison. I’ve been feeling really great ever since Dr. M switched my anesthesia!
I have been feeling a bit of irritation in my throat, due to the intubation tube, but I’ve found relief in the nice cool snow. I know I shouldn’t have too much, but it’s just so tempting! Mom and dad are going to talk to Dr. T to find out if there is anything else I can do to soothe my throat after each day of having the intubation tube in.
Once we got to the oncology/radiology department, mom and dad told my UW friends all about how great I did overnight with the catheter. When we got home on Monday afternoon, they made sure to tell me that I had to leave the wrapped catheter alone and not lick or try to bite it. Pretty hard to believe they expected me, a dog, to not lick or bite a weird thing tapped to my arm…right?! Even though it was hard to do, I left it alone all night!
I got to meet a new friend this time around! While we waited to be weighed, I met a cool Mastiff. I hope I get to see him again soon! Once it was my turn to be weighed, I really wanted to make sure they got it right, so I decided to go back to the scale 3 times, just to be sure 🙂
Before I knew it, I was ready to go back for treatment. Today is an extra special day because I’m going to be sleeping over! I can’t wait for my slumber party with my friends! I know mom and dad will miss me tonight, but they’ll be back right after tomorrow’s treatment to take me back home.
I’m started to get used to our routine, and I can’t wait to tick off more days and get closer to beating this brain tumor!
See you all soon! Stay “paw-sitive”!
