Day 3 of Radiation
Day 3 of my radiation treatment…and more snow! Thankfully, this time, the snow held off until dad got us to Madison. Once we got into the lobby of the oncology/radiology department, it didn’t take long before the place really started to fill up! I met a cool guy, an Akita, named Kane. He was much bigger than me, and he looked super cool with his blanket draped over him. Kane’s mom talked to mom and dad and told them all about Kane’s journey. We’re all hoping for the best for Kane – he seems like a real fighter, just like me!
New week of radiation means a new bandana! I was so excited to show off my new look to everyone! This morning we were introduced to Dr. T, who will be on rotation up until the last week of my treatment. While we’ll miss Dr. M, I just love meeting new people and making new friends! Thankfully, I’ll get a chance to hang out with Dr. M again for my last week of treatment.
After meeting with Dr. T and going over my great progress over the weekend, mom and dad left while I took my nap and let the radiation do its magic. Before I knew it, I woke up and got to see mom and dad again! As usual, mom cuddled in the back with me while we battled through the heavy snow in Madison, making our way back home.
I’m so glad the great doctors at UW Veterinary Care found a new type of anesthesia for me. I’ve been waking up feeling so great lately, which is making this whole process so much easier on all of us. I’m going to get some rest this afternoon and wake up well rested for another round tomorrow!
See you all soon!
